Liverpool's Development Program in Turkey
Liverpool FC International Academy will launch a development program for young footballers aged 5 to 16 in Turkey. On 24 August 2026, the club announced that the program will enable players to learn to play in the "Liverpool style."
Program Details
The announcement stated that the program aims to develop players’ technical, tactical, physical, and social skills within the framework of Liverpool’s coaching methodology. It will give players the opportunity to learn the Liverpool style both on and off the pitch.
Ian Rush’s Comments
Former Liverpool player and International Academy ambassador Ian Rush said, "We believe Turkey has a very strong football culture. We are very excited to add Liverpool FC International Academy Turkey to our global network. Coaching education is an important part of our program; we bring local coaches together with the philosophy and techniques used at our main academy in Liverpool. Both players and coaches will have the opportunity to develop their talents inside and outside the field."

Country Manager Selçuk Güler added, "Bringing the academy to Turkey is a great source of pride. Liverpool has a large fan base in Turkey, and the club’s values resonate strongly with players, coaches, and families. The program aims to leave a lasting impact on youth development in Turkey both on and off the field. Liverpool FC International Academy plans to build an infrastructure that will enable Turkey’s young talents to compete at an international level.
