Turkish Volleyball Federation President Mehmet Akif Üstündağ, during his guest appearance on NTV, highlighted that Turkey's volleyball infrastructure stands alone as a world leader. The women's national team's historical champion in the National League and the youth squads' Balkan championships demonstrate the breadth of success and potential for continued victories.
Speaking about his country's advantage, Üstündağ said, 'In just 24 hours, we experienced three championships. This shows the importance of infrastructure and how confident our future is in our hands.' He emphasized that while the national team reached the summit, it was a process they had to undergo. 'This team has succeeded,' he added, expressing their desire to continue their success at the European Championship.
When asked if athletes would receive championship bonuses, Üstündağ pointed out that who gets what is predetermined. He believed discussing this issue in public could lead to speculation but reinforced that 'at the right time, place, and occasion, fair compensation will be provided,' stressing the continuing provision of necessary financial and moral support.
