The Turkish Football Federation's bids to host UEFA finals in Istanbul and Ankara for 2028 and 2029 have been unsuccessful. UEFA announced the host cities for its major club competition finals, with none awarded to Turkey.

The TFF had previously announced its applications, nominating Rams Park in Istanbul for the 2028 UEFA Women's Champions League final and Ankara's 19 Mayıs Stadium for the 2029 UEFA Europa League final. Neither venue was selected by European football's governing body. Lyon will host the 2028 women's final, while Belgrade gets the 2029 Europa League showpiece.

THE NEW FINAL DESTINATIONS

Munich's Allianz Arena will stage the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, with Barcelona's Camp Nou set for 2029. Other decisions see the 2028 Europa League final go to Bucharest and the 2029 Europa Conference League final awarded to Budapest. The UEFA Super Cup will be held in Amsterdam in 2027 and Astana in 2028.

The Turkish national team continues its focus on the pitch in World Cup qualification. The team currently sits fourth in its group with 3 points from three matches. Its recent form reads three wins and two losses from the last five outings (WLLWW). The next fixture is a friendly against France at home on 25 September 2026.
